Moving up the career ladder - Meet Chloe from Nurseplus Basingstoke

Meet Chloe from Nurseplus Basingstoke

It’s not unusual to get to that point in your career when you want more. You may be a young healthcare professional with bags of ambition or a middle-aged midwife eyeing up the perks of an office job, whatever your reasons, it’s important to keep moving up the career ladder, or at least, be getting job satisfaction.

Here at Nurseplus, we have seen many of our employees move through the ranks. We believe that giving our staff the right training opportunities and treating them well will not only help our staff retention levels but will make for a happy and satisfied workforce overall.

Branch Manager for Basingstoke, Chloe Brennan, began her career with us as a Healthcare Assistant at our Chichester branch back in 2013, moving on to become a Field Supervisor in homecare in 2014 and a Homecare Coordinator in 2015, gaining lots of in-house and external training, as well as an NVQ Level 3.

Following a one-to-one with her line manager in April 2017, Chloe spoke of her desire to gain more responsibility. Shortly after, she was asked to support the Basingstoke branch to which she jumped at the chance. As they say, the rest is history and Chloe was made Branch Manager in July 2017.

Looking back at her development with Nurseplus, Chloe, commented: “I love how Nurseplus encourages staff to progress. I’ve been given the opportunity to go from being a carer to a manager in such a short space of time.

“I really don’t think that I’d have been able to get to where I am today if it wasn’t for the management team encouraging me to take these fantastic opportunities. I absolutely love this company and can’t see myself ever leaving.”

We invest in our staff by providing training through accredited external providers, as well as our dedicated in-house trainers, all of whom have a sound knowledge of the care industry. Other members of our team have progressed from carers to consultants, and from consultants to managers.

New starters to Nurseplus participate in a well-designed induction programme, which mirrors nationally recognised skills. Staff who want to move into senior positions are encouraged to achieve additional qualifications, preparing them for roles as consultants, branch managers and heads of departments.
