Not sure about working for Nurseplus?

Read Lee’s story

Having worked in the hospitality industry at senior management level, I had found myself becoming despondent with work, I was not getting the sense of reward and achievement from my successes.

After six months of soul searching, speaking with friends and family, one of my key strengths is helping others and caring for people's lives.

With the many stories in the news, I thought that the Health Care industry would be the ideal change in career, to be able to really make a difference to people's lives at a time of need. So I did a little research and spoke to some friends about various care companies, I then called them, Nurseplus seemed the friendliest of all companies I called, this made me feel at ease and happy to go for an interview.

The interview was straightforward enough, it seemed like I was having a conversation with a friend, I was given all the information I needed to read at my own leisure along with completing my DBS in the office, all of which made me feel comfortable about the decision I was making.

Next came the 4 days training. I was a little nervous to start, but those nerves were soon dispelled. The training delivered was professional, friendly and relaxed. The homework each evening kept the thought processes going, and the support was second to none, it was fantastic knowing that the trainer and management in the branch would spend additional time with you if required.

I think the nicest touch about the training was the shadow shift in a nursing home and putting the theory into practice. The office called me to ask how it went and have been a constant source of support ever since which is refreshing.

The best part of working for Nurse Plus has to be the variety of care homes you visit, from Nursing to residential and Learning disabilities. You get to meet such a variety of amazing individuals, all working to improve peoples lives.

You are given the skills and knowledge, and as long as you are ready to work as part of a collective team, you will be a success everywhere you work.

The future is looking bright, with a wealth of training courses and NVQ'S available along with the continued support from all at the office, I find myself with a new enthusiasm for work, making people's lives better - Lee Robinson

Lee had never worked in care before and has been part of the team since May 2016.  He has been a fantastic asset to the company every client cannot believe he hasn’t been in care for a year, his commitment and enthusiasm shows as he is already booked from now until the end of December - Claire Ratcliffe, Branch Manager
