Healthcare Assistant & Support Worker Roles

Nurseplus are looking for Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to provide person-centred care to clients within the local Residential and Nursing homes in your area.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work in a variety of settings including care homes, nursing homes and hospitals; you would play a pivotal role in providing excellent support and care for clients enabling them to lead the life that they choose.

A Nurseplus Care Assistant role requires a natural friendliness and the ability to engage with service users. We are therefore looking for people with a caring and compassionate nature and the ability to communicate effectively,  to ensure service users are comfortable and happy.

As health care assistant you will undertake daily responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  1. Assisting service users with personal care, medications and similar daily activities

  2. Providing assistance to residents to help them meet both their health and social care needs. 

  3. Enabling residents to achieve independence as far as possible in accordance with their personalised care plan

  4. Helping residents to identify and choose their support needs

  5. Listening and talking to residents

  6. Taking and recording basic observations such as blood pressure and temperature.

Nurseplus are looking for Support Workers to support service users meet both their health and social care needs. Clients can include people with a range of needs including learning disabilities, complex care and mental health problems.

As a support worker you will undertake daily responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  1. Supporting the service user with medication and daily living tasks

  2. Provide support to access the community and information

  3. Support the service user with finances, budgeting and government benefits.

  4. Enable the service user to be independent in all areas of their life where possible

  5. Help to maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive home for the service user

  6. Assist the individual to engage themselves as a valued member of the community

  7. Provide support with attending appointments

  8. Support the service user to actively contribute to the running of their own home

  9. Promote independence and choice

  10. Provide emotional support and befriending
