Putting dignity and respect at the heart of care

Providing dignified care is one of the primary aspects of our work. If you or a loved one has ever needed professional care, then you will realise the importance of ensuring dignity and compassion is upheld to the highest of standards.

Here at Nurseplus, all of our staff are thoroughly trained in delivering dignified care at all times to ensure individuals receive quality care that is tailored to their needs. It is important that each person’s views, choices and decisions are met and our workforce takes pride in ensuring that those they care for are always treated with the compassion and person-centred care that they deserve.

In 2006 the Dignity in Care campaign launched with the aim of improving quality of care and ensuring that people who use healthcare services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their lives.

This year the Dignity Action Awareness Day takes place on 1st February 2018 and is calling on people to put dignity and respect at the heart of the UK care services to enable a ‘positive experience of care’ for all.

As keen Dignity Champions, we uphold ‘The 10 Dignity Do’s' as set out by Dignity in Care:

1.       Have a zero-tolerance of all forms of abuse

2.       Support people with the same respect you would want for yourself or a member of your family

3.       Treat each person as an individual by offering a personalised service

4.       Enable people to maintain the maximum possible level of independence, choice and control

5.       Listen and support people to express their needs and wants

6.       Respect people's right to privacy

7.       Ensure people feel able to complain without fear of retribution

8.       Engage with family members and carers as care partners

9.       Assist people to maintain confidence and positive self-esteem

10.   Act to alleviate people's loneliness and isolation

Our philosophy centres around making a positive difference in people’s lives. This means that we strive to recruit professionals who are trustworthy, caring, positive and conscientious about their caring profession.
