Lisa tells us why she loves working in care.

Lisa has been working with the team at Nurseplus Canterbury as a healthcare assistant for 5years;  she has forged some great relationships with clients and staff, during the many shifts that he has worked for us.

Here, Lisa tells us why she loves working for Nurseplus.

"I started in care because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives and to empower them to live full and independent lives.

Having been in the care sector for a number of years, I found that this isn't always possible; with lack of resources financially and equipment not readily available. I remember seeing Nurseplus staff come into the establishment where I was based. Their enthusiasm and hope gave me the kick I needed so I decided to leave my post and go to the agency. This was the best decision I made. The welcome I received from the Canterbury branch was amazing. I was made to feel valued, not only as a carer but as a person too. They encouraged me to try new avenues of working and supported me in new ventures, not only with the training but with the space to talk over a cup of coffee and a cake ( the only place I know where there is an abundance of chocolate!). The training which always seemed boring in the past and something you had to do suddenly came alive. It was tailored to meet your needs and requirements and was always fun. Sharing experiences and practices with others is a great learning tool and coupled with a great trainer made me feel I had learnt something and could use that in whatever place I was. The beauty of Nurseplus Canterbury is that they listen to you and your needs and when you want to work. They also have an open door and still plenty of chocolate if you just want to drop in and chat. I can honestly say it was the best move ever!

If you'd like to experience the same benefits as Lisa, why not get in touch with your local branch today and join the fantastic Nurseplus team.
