Children's Services Training: Supporting Our Staff to Support Children
There’s always room to learn more, and when it comes to delivering high-quality to children and young people the learning never stops.
At Nurseplus, we are committed to the development, support, and ongoing training of our care professionals so we can strengthen knowledge, skills, and confidence to support children’s care services. We want to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care across all the services we support.
By offering structured learning and development opportunities, aligned with recognised apprenticeship standards and regulatory frameworks, we can support workforce development and ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality care to the people and services we support.
Our Approach to Children’s Services Training

Children’s services cover different areas, each with its own rules, skills, and career paths. At Nurseplus, we get that and so we work to make sure our children's services training matches the unique needs of:
Residential Childcare (Children and Young People)
Early Years (0–5 provision aligned to EYFS)
This way, our care staff are well-trained and prepared for their specific roles.
"Building a confident and capable workforce is essential in children’s services. Our training and apprenticeship pathways are designed to support practitioners to develop their skills, strengthen their practice and progress within their careers, ultimately helping services deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people." Gemma Peadon - National Training Lead
Residential Childcare Pathway

Our residential children's services training is here to support care professionals working with kids and young people in regulated settings, meeting the important standards and expectations.
Apprenticeship Pathways
Many roles within children’s residential services typically require a Level 3 qualification. Our apprenticeship offer focuses on supporting experienced staff to progress through the Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner standard.

This pathway gets our staff ready to support children and young people with a variety of needs, including those in more complex or specialist care settings.
Early Years Pathway

Our Early Years training for childcare workers backs the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and gets practitioners prepared to work with younger children in early education and care settings.
